Damaged Water Channel in Hamdani Alley Repaired

Personnel from Koja Sub-district Water Resource Management Unit, North Jakarta are seen repairing the channel system in Hamdani Alley, RT 09/02, Rawa Badak Selatan Urban Village.

This is done because the channel is damaged and small in size

Koja Sub-district Water Resource Management Unit Head, Slamet Riyanto said repar was made by widening the channel to increase its capacity.

"This is done because the channel is damaged and small in size," he expressed, Tuesday (5/27).

He explained the work involved 10 personnel every day.

"This channel has 20 centimeters wide, thus we will widen it to 40 centimeters with 80 centimeters high," he explained.

According to him, the work was temporarily hindered due to the narrow access, which needed extra time and effort in transporting the materials used.

"It has been ongoing since May 20, 2025, and is targeted to be completed in mid-June 2025. Hopefully, this channel can operate maximally," he hoped.

The repair received appreciation from one of the locals, Mohammad Farid (47). Previously, the area was often flooded due to overflowing water from the channel during heavy rain.

"Thank you and I hope there won't be any more floods when heavy rain falls," he hoped.
